  6. Below is a copy  of a letter that I have sent to the clubs that I am a member
  7. of warning them of, to me what  can only be called a low life scam. I hope to
  8. reach more fans by  putting this in  THE FINAL FRONTIER and  telling them  to 
  9. stay clear. Please read on :

  20. To all the members of 
  21.  
  22. I would like to bring to  the attention of my fellow members and  fans of the 
  23. programme we all love dearly to what I have discovered to be the biggest rip- 
  24. off that I've ever seen.
  25.         
  26. I  responded to an  ad I saw  in one  of the sci-fi  magazines for  Star Trek 
  27. merchandise for sale. Always looking for products I do not have, I sent for a
  28. list of  what he had  for sale. Looking  through the list, I  saw the Romulan 
  29. model from  some years  back and  others  that were  described as  Capt. Kirk 
  30. poster, Mr. Spock  poster and  Enterprise 25th  Anniversary posters  at £1.25 
  31. each. The model, £2.50. Plus he had  for sale the Inside Star Trek audio tape
  32. at £3.50. I went to get a postal order and sent for my things.
  33.         
  34. Upon receipt  of my products I  thought April 1st had come  round either late 
  35. this year  or early. The  model was not what  he had put, but  it was a badly 
  36. made bird of prey  from the Space Ship  set. The posters - HA! what  posters. 
  37. All they were,  were substandard  A4 black & white  photocopies from some old 
  38. magazine which had  an article for Trek  in it. The tape was nothing short of 
  39. an insult, all it was was  a recording (first part at the wrong speed) of the
  40. LP - a scratched  LP at that. I couldn't help but  feel disgusted and cheated 
  41. by this person who claimed to have original merchandise. With my order he had
  42. the nerve to send me a new list of things  for sale. On it were The Menagerie
  43. Photonovel in b&w and  the Doomsday Weapon Photonovel in b&w. I've been a fan
  44. for  22 years and  I've never seen  these - are these  more of his  so called 
  45. original fakes?
  46.          
  47. If any  fan or member comes  across an ad for merchandise from STARBASE Wales 
  48. or if they see  his name, P. Mohammid, they must  stay clear of him.  This is 
  49. downright abuse of fans.
  50.         
  51. Have any  members had  stuff from  him already.  If so I'd  like to  know. He 
  52. should be boycotted from advertising in the  mags (unfortunately, I  doubt if 
  53. this  would happen as it was a classified  ad) but at least the fans now know 
  54. of this blatant scam.

  63. As in the above letter I'd like to know if anyone else has been ripped off by
  64. him.  If enough  of us have I'm  sure something can  be done about  this scam 
  65. artist.
